Lev 14:14  “And the priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.
Lev 14:15  “And the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand.
Lev 14:16  “And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before יהוה.
Lev 14:17  “And of the rest of the oil in his hand, the priest puts some on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the blood of the guilt offering.

Lev 14:21  “But if he is poor and is unable to afford it, then he shall take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one-tenth of an ĕphah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, and a log of oil,
Lev 14:22  and two turtledoves or two young pigeons, such as he is able to afford, and one shall be a sin offering and the other a burnt offering.
Lev 14:23  “And he shall bring them to the priest on the eighth day for his cleansing, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, before יהוה.
Lev 14:24  “And the priest shall take the lamb of the guilt offering and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them as a wave offering before יהוה.
Lev 14:25  “And he shall slaughter the lamb of the guilt offering, and the priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

Lev 14:28  “And the priest shall put some of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of the right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the guilt offering.

Lev 14:32  “This is the Torah for one who had an infection of leprosy, who is unable to afford for his cleansing.”
Lev 14:33  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, saying,
Lev 14:34  “When you come into the land of Kenaʽan, which I am giving you as a possession, and I put a plague of leprosy in a house in the land of your possession,
Lev 14:35  then shall the one who owns the house come and inform the priest, saying, ‘It seems to me that there is some plague in the house.’
Lev 14:36  “And the priest shall command, and they shall empty the house, before the priest goes in to look at the plague, so that all that is in the house is not made unclean. And after that the priest goes in to look at the house.
Lev 14:37  “And he shall look at the plague and see, if the plague is on the walls of the house with sunken places, greenish or reddish, which appear to be deep in the wall,
Lev 14:38  then the priest shall go out of the house, to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days.
Lev 14:39  “And the priest shall come again on the seventh day and look and see, if the plague has spread on the walls of the house,
Lev 14:40  then the priest shall command, and they shall remove the stones with the plague in them, and they shall throw them outside the city, into an unclean place,
Lev 14:41  while he lets the house be scraped inside, all around, and the dust that they scrape off they shall pour out in an unclean place outside the city.
Lev 14:42  “And they shall take other stones and put them in the place of those stones, and take other mortar and plaster the house.
Lev 14:43  “And if the plague comes back and breaks out in the house, after he has removed the stones, after he has scraped the house, and after it is plastered,
Lev 14:44  then the priest shall come and look and see, if the plague has spread in the house, it is an active leprosy in the house, it is unclean.
Lev 14:45  “And he shall break down the house, its stones, and its timber, and all the plaster of the house, and he shall bring them outside the city to an unclean place.

Lev 15:3  ‘And this is his uncleanness in regard to his discharge; whether his flesh runs with his discharge, or his flesh is stopped up by his discharge, it is his uncleanness.
Lev 15:4  ‘Any bed becomes unclean on which he who has the discharge lies, and any object on which he sits becomes unclean.
Lev 15:5  ‘And anyone who touches his bed has to wash his garments, and shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
Lev 15:6  ‘And he who sits on any object on which he who has the discharge sat, has to wash his garments, and shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

Haftorah: Melachim ב 7:3-20
2Ki 7:3  And there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate. And they said to each other, “Why are we sitting here until we are dead?
2Ki 7:4  “If we shall say, ‘Let us go into the city,’ the scarcity of food is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we shall die. And now, come, let us surrender to the army of the Arameans. If they keep us alive, we live. And if they kill us, we shall die.”
2Ki 7:5  So at twilight they rose up to go to the camp of the Arameans. And when they had come to the outskirts of the Aramean camp, look, no one was there.
2Ki 7:6  For יהוה had caused the army of the Arameans to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses, the noise of a great army, and they said to each other, “Look, the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl has hired against us the sovereigns of the Ḥittites and the sovereigns of the Mitsrians to come against us!”
2Ki 7:7  So they rose up and fled at twilight, and left the camp as it is – their tents, and their horses, and their donkeys – and they fled for their lives.
2Ki 7:8  And when these lepers came to the outskirts of the camp, they went into one tent and ate and drank, and took from there silver and gold and garments, and went and hid them. And they came back and went into another tent, and took from there and went and hid it.
2Ki 7:9  Then they said to each other, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we are keeping silent. And if we wait until morning light, then evil shall come upon us. And now, come, let us go and inform the house of the sovereign.”
2Ki 7:10  And they came and called to the gatekeepers of the city, and informed them, saying, “We went to the camp of Aram, and look, there is not a man or a voice of man, only horses tied and donkeys tied, and the tents as they were.”
2Ki 7:11  And the gatekeepers called, and they informed the house of the sovereign inside.
2Ki 7:12  So the sovereign rose up in the night and said to his servants, “Let me now inform you what the Arameans have done to us. They know that we are starving, so they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, ‘When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and enter into the city.’ ”
2Ki 7:13  And one of his servants answered and said, “Please, let some take five of the horses that are left in the city. Look, they are like the entire crowd of Yisra’ĕl that are left in it, look, they are like the entire crowd of Yisra’ĕl left from those who are consumed. So let us send and see.”
2Ki 7:14  They then took two chariots with horses. And the sovereign sent them in the direction of the camp of Aram, saying, “Go and see.”
2Ki 7:15  And they went after them to the Yardĕn. And look, all the way was littered with garments and weapons which the Arameans had thrown away in their haste. And the messengers returned and reported to the sovereign.
2Ki 7:16  Then the people went out and plundered the camp of Aram. So a seah of fine flour was for a sheqel, and two seahs of barley for a sheqel, according to the word of יהוה.
2Ki 7:17  And the sovereign had appointed the officer on whose hand he leaned to be in charge of the gate. But the people trampled him in the gate, and he died, as the man of Elohim had said, who spoke when the sovereign came down to him.
2Ki 7:18  And it came to be, as the man of Elohim had spoken to the sovereign, saying, “Two seahs of barley for a sheqel, and a seah of fine flour for a sheqel, at this time tomorrow in the gate of Shomeron,”
2Ki 7:19  that officer answered the man of Elohim, and said, “Now look, if יהוה is making windows in the heavens, is it according to this word?” And he had said, “Look, you are about to see it with your eyes, but not eat of it.”
2Ki 7:20  And so it came to be for him, for the people trampled him in the gate, and he died.

Metzora Aliya Summary

Description: http://www.chabad.org/images/global/spacer.gif
General Overview: This week's reading, Metzora, discusses the purification process for one who contracts "tzara'at" (skin maladies which are contracted as a result of engaging in forbidden gossip), and the symptoms and laws of "house tzara'at," indicated by certain brick discolorations. Following is a discussion of various ritual impurities, including the laws of the menstruating woman.

First Aliyah: The Torah reading begins with a description of the purification procedure for a person who contracted tzara'at. After the priest determines that the tzara'at has been healed, a ceremony involving two birds, a cedar plank, a scarlet thread and water from a live stream, is used for the initial stage of the purification. The individual also shaves his entire body. After a seven day wait, the person shaves again, and brings three animals and an oil offering to the Temple.

Second Aliyah: The priest processes the offerings in the manner prescribed in this section. With this the purification process is completed.

Third Aliyah: If the individual suffering from tzara'at cannot afford the above sacrifices, two birds can be substituted for two of the animals. This section describes the slightly different purification process reserved for the impoverished person.

Fourth Aliyah: Homes, too, can be afflicted with tzara'at. If bricks on a home become discolored -- acquiring a strong red or green pigment -- a priest is summoned. If indeed the discoloration seems to be tzara'at, the priest quarantines the home for up to three weeks. Depending on the spread of the discoloration, the home is either declared to be pure, or the specific bricks are removed from the house, or, in the most extreme situations, the house is demolished. The Torah then describes the purification process for such a home -- which is very similar to the initial stage of the purification of the human afflicted with tzara'at (described in the First Aliyah).

Fifth Aliyah: After concluding the subject of tzara'at, the Torah discusses the ritual impurity of a man who issues a sickly and unnatural seminal discharge, as well as the method by which this person attains purity when the condition passes.

Sixth Aliyah: This section discusses the ritual impurity contracted by a man who issues a (normal) seminal discharge, the ritual impurity of a menstruating woman, and of a man who cohabits with her. All such people must immerse in a mikvah (ritual pool) in order to be purified.

Seventh Aliyah: Under certain circumstances a menstruating woman was required to bring to the Temple two bird offerings in order to attain purity. These sacrifices are described in this section.
